Electricians/Operatives

We are at present recruiting for Operatives.

The role and responsibilities will be as follows.

  1. Manage own workload and support others as required
  2. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  3. Complete work to a suitable level of quality
  4. Work with the Contracts Manager or Supervisor to develop work
  5. Complete test certificates using suitable means
  6. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  7. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  8. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  9. Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  10. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  11. Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
  12. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  13. Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

Any other duties as required.

 

Qualifications and Requirements (current or willing to complete within three months)

 

  1. Level 3 Technical Certificate.
  2. NVQ Level 3 Electrical, Building Services.
  3. City and Guilds 2382, Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:
  4. Level 3 Inspection and Test (2391. 2394/5)
  5. AM2
  6. Current ECS assessment and relevant JIB card holder

Working Supervisor.

We are at present recruiting internally for a Working Supervisor.

The role and responsibilities will be as follows.

  1. Work with the Contracts Manager and Operations Manager to develop a weekly plan of works for all operatives.
  2. Work with Admin Staff to maintain weekly calendar and activity records.
  3. Allocate daily workload to operatives.
  4. Maintain own workload as agreed.
  5. Ensure that test results from inspections are recorded correctly.
  6. Complete, using suitable methods, test certificates and maintain quality.
  7. Determine the nature and level of supervision necessary for electrical installation works and operatives.
  8. Develop Risk Assessments, with the help of the Contracts Managers.
  9. Determine training needs of operatives.
  10. Authorise operatives holidays and monitor.
  11. Mentor new staff.
  12. Provide support and advice to operatives.
  13. Work with the Contracts Managers to develop quotations.
  14. Ensure that test instruments are calibrated and monthly checks completed.

Any other duties as necessary.
